Grow Eyeleaf Seed to obtain Eyeballs in Welcome to Elderfield. Crawford's farming shop is the direct seed source, and the harvested Eyeball can be processed into Secret Sauce. Eyeleaf Seed, Eyeball, and Pickled Eyeballs are different items, so match the exact name to the recipe or machine you are using.

Eyeleaf and Eyeball names

“Eye balls” is a common search spelling for the Eyeball ingredient. The plant's name is Eyeleaf, while its shop item is Eyeleaf Seed. Searching your inventory only for “eye balls” can make it harder to spot the actual item you need.

NameWhat it isWhat to do with it
Eyeleaf SeedA seed used to grow the cropPlant it on prepared farm soil
EyeballThe harvested materialKeep it for an appropriate processing recipe
Secret SauceA processed cooking ingredientUse it in dishes such as Pizza
Pickled EyeballsA preserved productCheck the recipe that asks for this finished ingredient
Unmarked SeedA separate unusual crop typeTreat its growth and combat harvest separately

The distinction matters most at the processing stage. A Grinder recipe for Eyeball does not accept the unplanted seed merely because both names refer to the same crop chain. Similarly, a preserved product is not automatically interchangeable with the raw ingredient used to create it.

Buy Eyeleaf Seed from Crawford

Visit Crawford's farming shop after beginning Hans's farm progression. Eyeleaf appears in the seed selection alongside crops such as Wheat and Wormsprout. Read the selected item's name before purchasing, particularly when you are buying several crop types in the same visit.

If the farming shop is not available, continue Hans's farm introduction and tasks. Those tasks establish access to the field and the farming supplies you need. More seed choices also open through the farm's progression, so the current shop list is more useful than assuming that every seed is available immediately.

Older item information lists four days for Eyeleaf growth and depicts availability across all seasons. Those exact release-build values are not confirmed here. Read the current seed description before planning a harvest against a task date or planting close to a season change.

The seed's selling value is also different from the amount Crawford asks when you buy it. A two-gold value attached to an old item list should not be used to calculate the cost of a field. Check the purchase interface when deciding how many seeds fit your budget.

Grow and collect the crop

Prepare a farm plot with the hoe, plant the Eyeleaf Seed, and water the crop as part of your normal farm care. Rain can cover watering during wet weather. When the plant is ready, harvest it and check that the resulting Eyeball is present in your inventory.

Special effects that add crop growth can make a harvest arrive earlier than an ordinary planting cycle. Check for a ready crop after one of these effects instead of waiting solely for a date you calculated at planting.

The important result is the harvested item rather than a guess based on the crop's appearance. Early versions had a bug in the item name displayed by some harvest messages. If a popup looks inconsistent, inspect the actual inventory item before deciding that the crop produced something different.

There is no confirmed current harvest-quantity or regrowth table here. Keep the Eyeballs you actually receive for your immediate processing plan. Avoid selling the entire harvest first if your next objective already needs Secret Sauce or another Eyeball product.

Make Secret Sauce with a Grinder

Use a Grinder to turn Eyeball into Secret Sauce. This connects a farm crop to the cooking system and provides an alternative when the General Store does not sell the sauce you need. The Secret Sauce guide covers the full route through the processor and the basic Pizza ingredients.

Load the Eyeball into the machine deliberately. Processing does not automatically pull raw ingredients from storage in the same way as crafting, even though processors can take fuel from storage. A chest full of Eyeballs therefore does not by itself mean the Grinder is working on a batch.

If the device appears idle, check whether you have inserted the raw item, whether its fuel requirement is met, and whether the displayed processing time has elapsed. Treat those as separate checks. Moving the Eyeball into your carried inventory is a practical first step when a stored ingredient seems unavailable.

Hans's farming tasks provide a route to the Grinder. The machine is also associated with the workbench's farm equipment. If you cannot find a conversion at the Cooking Pot, you are looking at the later cooking step rather than the device that creates the sauce.

Preserve Eyeballs for other uses

A Preserving Barrel turns Eyeballs into Pickled Eyeballs. That is a different output from the Grinder's Secret Sauce, so choose the machine based on the finished ingredient you need. Converting every Eyeball into a preserved product can leave you short of raw input for the sauce route.

Dave's Fog Broth request offers a route to a Preserving Barrel. The request connects a grown Celery ingredient with a Fog Eel from the lake. If you are working toward that reward, the fishing tutorial explains how to start with Herb and progress into the relevant fish catch.

Exact preservation time and output quantities are not confirmed here. Read the barrel's current input and output information before committing a large batch. The useful decision at this stage is whether you need raw Eyeballs, sauce, or the pickled product for the recipe already in front of you.

Make Bubble-Tea with raw Eyeballs

Bubble-Tea is a direct use for Eyeballs that skips both the Grinder and the Preserving Barrel. Its recorded Juicer recipe requires three Eyeballs, one Cloudberry, and one Milk. The recipe is marked as known at the start, although you still need the Juicer and all three ingredient types.

Bubble-Tea componentRecorded amountIngredient stage
Eyeball3Raw harvest
Cloudberry1The named fruit item
Milk1Milk accepted by the recipe

If you want this drink, reserve the raw Eyeballs before starting a sauce batch. Three Secret Sauces or three Pickled Eyeballs do not represent the same ingredients merely because they came from the same crop. The input's exact form matters just as much as its quantity.

The Tentacow and milk guide covers the ranch ingredient in this recipe. If you already have the Eyeballs but no Milk, growing more Eyeleaf does not solve that missing slot. Check the Juicer's ingredient list and work on whichever component is still absent.

Prepare Pickled Eyeballs for Zeek's Forbidden Snack

Zeek, on Catacombs 3F, requests a finished Forbidden Snack. This later task gives Pickled Eyeballs a concrete purpose: the recorded recipe uses ten of them, along with several other materials. The task reward includes a T3 Forge Upgrade blueprint.

The earlier task route lists a Stage 2 House requirement and says to cook the dish at an Oven. The recipe is learned later, so meeting Zeek, obtaining the necessary cooking access, and assembling the ingredients are separate parts of the work. Reaching Catacombs 3F alone does not mean that ten preserved eyes can be handed over as the completed request.

Use the Catacombs entry walkthrough if access to the region is the missing prerequisite. Once you can reach Zeek, read the task and check that the Forbidden Snack recipe is available at your Oven. That lets you identify the actual remaining materials before filling more farm plots.

Forbidden Snack ingredientRecorded amount

Nightcrawler2
Ladybug2
Shyfish5
Wax10
Battery2
Pickled Eyeballs10

These are earlier recipe quantities; use the current Oven menu if it differs. The ten Pickled Eyeballs are one component of the dish, not the complete recipe. Raw Eyeballs, Secret Sauce, and Eyeleaf Seeds do not satisfy that component in the recorded recipe.

Prepare the preserved ingredient with a Preserving Barrel, then count the finished Pickled Eyeballs you actually collect. There is no confirmed conversion quantity here that allows ten preserved items to be translated directly into ten raw Eyeballs or ten seeds. Start with the missing finished-product count displayed by the recipe and check the barrel's output as you work.

Two ingredients can change the order of your preparations. Shyfish are caught in the Catacombs using a Quality Fishing Rod and Firefly bait, so the recipe involves fishing equipment as well as access to Zeek's floor. Batteries are collected from a Lightning Rod after a thunderstorm. Start those routes while preserving Eyeballs if they are the remaining gaps in your inventory.

The Lightning Rod blueprint is a reward from Trisha's A Ghostly Catch task, and another recorded route reaches a chest behind Dax in the Sewers after giving him Spectral Rain and Godscale. The rod can be placed on the Farm or Ranch and produces one Battery after a thunderstorm in the earlier item record. Use the Ghost Flounder quest guide for Trisha's route. Obtaining the blueprint, constructing the device, and waiting for the weather are separate steps, which is why the two Batteries may take longer than the preserved ingredient.

When the dish is ready, take Forbidden Snack to Zeek. The reward belongs to completing his food request; giving him a jar of Pickled Eyeballs is not equivalent to cooking the requested item. After receiving the forge blueprint, inspect its construction requirements as a new crafting step rather than assuming that the reward automatically installs an upgrade.

Collect useful seed and preserved-item rewards

Eyeleaf Seed can also appear as farm-box loot. Treat that as an incidental addition to your seed supply when you search a box, not a fixed daily purchase replacement. The loot is a seed, so it still needs to be planted and grown before it becomes the raw Eyeball used by your recipes.

A Fancy Drink provides a separate route to finished Pickled Eyeballs. Earl at Greystone Estates, Room 2, asks for Duskberry wine; the recorded reward includes three Pickled Eyeballs. That reward is a processed ingredient rather than three seeds or three raw Eyeballs.

The wine request requires a Keg, so it is not an immediate substitute for the ordinary seed-and-barrel route when you have not reached that progression. Keep the distinction between an optional task reward and an available machine conversion. Use whichever route your current tasks and equipment already support.

Keep the storage location in mind

Eyeballs sit across the boundary between food-related items and crafting materials. Home cooking can use ingredients from the refrigerator, while processors need their raw material inserted. These are different interactions, so success at one station does not prove that every station reads the same container.

If a crafting screen says an Eyeball is missing when you know you have one, check your refrigerator and other storage. Move the item into your inventory and reopen the relevant recipe or processing interaction. This is a useful troubleshooting step without assuming that every refrigerator and workbench combination behaves identically in every build.

For a Grinder batch, moving the item is only preparation: you still need to load it. For cooking with Secret Sauce, you need the completed output rather than the Eyeball. Checking the stage of the ingredient chain often resolves the problem more quickly than rearranging every storage container.

Unmarked seeds and wandering crops

Unmarked seeds can produce wandering crops that are harvested through combat. These encounters can yield materials including Eyeballs, Teeth, and Bloody Skin. They are a separate route from planting a named Eyeleaf Seed and collecting its crop.

Use the game's notification that crops are wandering off to identify that event. Do not assume every Eyeball plant is supposed to flee or that ordinary Eyeleaf farming requires the same fight. Likewise, seeing eyes on an enemy or in the environment does not establish that interaction as a repeatable source of the inventory ingredient.

For a planned supply, the Eyeleaf route is easier to follow because the seed and desired material are directly linked. Keep incidental combat harvests if they help your current recipes, but count the actual items received. A single encounter does not establish a fixed drop quantity for the next one.

Put the harvest toward a specific recipe

If you need Pizza for a task, reserve Eyeballs for the Grinder and then reserve the completed Secret Sauce for cooking. If you need Pickled Eyeballs, prepare the Preserving Barrel instead. If neither product is currently required, check your learned recipes before selling a resource that would take another crop cycle to replace.

Eyeleaf is one example of farming supplying another system. Wormsprout supplies fishing bait in a similar way, but it has its own seed, harvest, and growing conditions. Keep those crop records separate so the timer or quantity of one does not become an assumption about the other.
