Mines regenerate once per week after you bathe. The mining tutorial also allows certain events to reset them. Sleeping through a single night is not a daily ore refill, and a regenerated mine does not guarantee the particular ore you need.

If you are waiting for Copper Ore, check the Beginner Mine beside Molly’s Workshop and the Mall Mines, entered from the Food Court, once they are accessible. An empty copper search can mean an exhausted mine, but it can also mean the new resource generation did not include copper. Those are different problems, so inspect the mine's overall resources before concluding that the reset failed.

Use the weekly reset and bath condition

The regular mining reset combines a weekly cycle with bathing. Treat both parts as relevant: the rule is not simply that every bath immediately produces a new mine. Repeatedly bathing on the same day is not an established way to reroll ore. Continue your other tasks through the cycle, bathe, and then revisit the mines you have unlocked.

The exact weekly anchor is not established here. There is no reliable basis for promising a Monday reset or saying that a timer starts precisely seven days after your last mining trip. If you are keeping track of an apparent problem, note the in-game date of your bath and inspection. That is a practical way to compare visits without building the entire plan around an unconfirmed weekday.

Sleeping and bathing should not be treated as interchangeable actions for this purpose. A player who has only ended the day may still be missing the condition named by the reset rule. Likewise, a bath does not remove the weekly restriction. Check what you actually did before deciding that the game failed to regenerate the mine.

The tutorial mentions certain events as another way mines can reset, but it does not give a complete event list. Do not rely on an unnamed event as a repeatable farming method. In particular, an uncertain remark that death might reset a mine is not enough to recommend dying for more ore. The regular weekly bath route is the usable rule.

A reset does not guarantee Copper Ore

Ore generation is not a promise that every mine contains every material. Copper can be absent even after resources have regenerated. If you judge the entire reset only by whether you find one copper deposit, you can mistake a valid new layout for a failed reset. Look for broader changes in the resources before diagnosing the missing target ore.

The beginner mine and Mall mine are both relevant places to look for copper. Checking both gives you more available mining areas than repeatedly revisiting one exhausted location. This is a search recommendation, not a guarantee of a minimum copper yield. Each accessible mine still has its own generated resources.

Separate the search for ore from the need for bars. A task or workshop recipe that requests Copper Bars will not be satisfied by the same number of Copper Ore sitting in your inventory. You still need the processing step. If you already have ore, check your furnace workflow before spending another week waiting for deposits you may not actually need.

Search deeper floors when Gold is missing

Gold can appear in the Demo's mines; an empty search does not mean you must buy the full game to obtain it. Its distribution is random, with better chances on deeper floors. If you need Gold for Hans's chalice and have only searched the upper part of the Mall Mines, exploring farther down an accessible route is worth trying before you wait for another weekly generation.

This changes how you should judge an unsuccessful trip. Exhausting the first floor answers whether that floor has anything left to collect, but it does not answer whether the remaining accessible floors contain Gold. Work through the areas you can currently reach, and use a later regeneration as another opportunity if the present arrangement has none. There is no guaranteed Gold floor or minimum yield to plan around.

Check the whole mine rather than one remembered deposit

Larger mines can change layout when they regenerate. A rock or path you remember from the previous visit may not remain in the same place. Explore the current arrangement instead of walking to a single old coordinate and leaving as soon as it is empty. The reset affects the generated area, not merely a fixed list of deposits that must reappear where you last mined them.

Routes deeper into the Mall Mines can consequently look different on your return. A July 2026 Demo example involved a passage near the Ancient Statue: the player encountered different door conditions over successive generations, including a Pumpkin Pie request on one visit. Treat that as a reason to read the current door interaction, not as a permanent instruction to carry a pie on every mining trip.

If you left to obtain an item for a passage and the mine has regenerated meanwhile, locate the passage again and check its present requirement before handing anything over. Reaching that depth previously does not make an old route description a reliable map of the new generation. Keep the item for its actual requested use if the obstacle you prepared for is no longer there.

Judge different types of changes separately. A monster returning does not automatically prove that the ore has regenerated, and a garbage container is not the same resource as a mine deposit. A task item may also follow its own objective conditions. When checking a reset, focus on mine resources and layout rather than treating every respawning object as evidence for the same system.

Bring a pickaxe and account for mining hazards

Welcome to Elderfield player mining ore beside wooden platforms and ladders

A pickaxe is required for mining. Follow Tanner’s dialogue to open the route to Molly’s workshop, then speak with Molly to start Helping Molly. She gives you the Rusty Pickaxe before the copper delivery. Take it into the adjacent Beginner Mine and collect one Copper Ore.

Look for rocks with orange bumps when making that first copper search. On mouse controls, click and hold to mine the deposit, then check the item you collected. Molly needs the Copper Ore itself, so return with it before putting that first piece through a Furnace.

Return the ore to Molly, then enter the Workshop for her Forge introduction. That introduction provides the Furnace and its recipe. You do not have to mine the first ore without a tool or finish Hans’s old second task to obtain this Furnace.

The Mall Rat just inside the Mall Mines sells a Basic Pickaxe. Check that option when you are progressing beyond Molly's introductory copper trip, especially while gathering the metals for the Skull Chalice. Most of that chalice's ore requirements cannot be met entirely in the Beginner Mine beside the Workshop. A fresh generation of the wrong mining area cannot replace access to the materials your recipe actually uses.

The tutorial warns that bad things can happen when you swing the pickaxe. Mining is therefore not an activity to treat as completely consequence-free while concentrating only on ore counts. Pay attention to your condition and the result of each interaction. There is no supported fixed damage amount per swing or mandatory protection item that can be given as a universal rule here.

Warp provides a useful way home when you need to unload a mining haul. Learn the skill at the video game store in the Mall, then use it when available to return home and put away your gathered materials. If you intend to resume the trip afterward, check whether you have a Recall Potion before leaving the mine.

After casting Warp, a Recall Potion returns you to the previous location and is consumed on use. Keep one available for the return leg rather than mistaking it for another homeward teleport. This pairing can support a storage break during exploration; it does not regenerate depleted ore or unlock a blocked route.

Process ore into usable materials

Most ores need a Furnace before they become the materials used in recipes. Put the required processing input into the machine through its interaction. Storage provided for fuel does not mean that all ore placed nearby will automatically enter the production process. If the Furnace is idle while ore remains in a chest, inspect the input step instead of assuming your mine produced unusable material.

This distinction is especially relevant when gathering for tool upgrades. The Sturdy Axe route uses Copper Bars and Iron Bars, while early mining tasks can ask for Copper Ore. Read the requested item name before processing or spending the stack. Converting everything immediately may be unhelpful if an active delivery still asks for raw ore.

The axe upgrade guide covers the documented workshop route and the difference between the Rusty, Basic, and Sturdy Axe. If that upgrade is your reason for needing copper, identify the remaining recipe ingredients first. A complete ore search is only one part of an upgrade that can also depend on tools and task rewards. Do not interpret every unavailable workshop option as a mining-reset issue.

For an older Demo, processing time has another version-specific wrinkle. The September 1 v0.11.17 update restored processor progress during sleep and made machines finish at their target time instead of checking in long intervals. This affects the ore already inside a Furnace. It does not make sleeping regenerate the mine outside. If a machine appears late, inspect the processing job and your build before treating it as another resource-respawn failure.

Expand mining access through the relevant tasks

New mining areas have their own progression requirements. Waiting for the weekly reset will not open a locked route that needs a key or a task reward. If the problem is that you cannot enter the mine at all, resolve that access requirement first. The weekly resource rule applies to regeneration, not to replacing the region's unlock chain.

The Demo's June 11, 2026 v0.11.2 expansion added a task-linked area to the Mall Mines with additional enemies and substantially more ore rocks in each generation. Its associated progression introduced the Lapidary Table, with task mail arriving on day five or later in that update. This is a useful version boundary if a much older Demo recording shows a smaller mining route than the one available to you.

The relevant task is Molly's The Elder Gem. With that task active, enter the mines through the Mall Food Court and speak to Mall Rat to open the Sealed Passage. This is the route to inspect when the starting mining area no longer supplies enough material for your plans. Expanding the amount of mine you can explore gives you more deposits to inspect within one generation. It does not accelerate the weekly cycle or promise that the extra rocks will contain the metal you need.

The Old Woods Mines are connected to Local Joggers Club progression. First reaching the Old Woods, finding the Mill Key, completing membership, and reaching its mining routes are related but distinct stages. The Old Woods access guide breaks those stages apart. It is useful when you are looking for another mine but are still stopped by the forest's route conditions.

The Catacombs Mines use a separate gate key from Adam's The Strange Orb task. That is not the same key Adrian awards for the Catacombs entrance at the Church Cemetery. If you are already inside the region but cannot enter the mine, follow Adam's chain rather than repeating the original entrance task. The Catacombs key and mine guide explains both layers.

Investigate an apparently unchanged mine

Start with the simplest distinction: an empty mine immediately after yesterday's visit is consistent with a weekly system. Check whether you have actually passed through the relevant cycle and bathed. If you have, inspect the current resources across the accessible area. A lack of the one ore you wanted is weaker evidence than an entirely unchanged exhausted mine.

Next, visit another unlocked mine. This can help with the immediate material shortage even when the first area's outcome remains unclear. Record which mine you checked, the date, and whether resources or layout changed if you need to describe a persistent issue. That makes the problem more specific than saying that copper never comes back.

The November 10, 2025 resource-generation overhaul could temporarily leave resources absent until the next generation. That was an update transition, not a reason to assume daily mining normally works that way. If your problem began after an update, distinguish it from ordinary weekly depletion when describing the issue. The practical baseline remains the same: weekly regeneration after bathing, variable resources, and separate unlock conditions for additional mines.
